"I wonder if your position is secure enough to risk telling them everything I know?"

After Cheshire gathers a few more League of Shadows members to help her kill Roquette, we see that they use, possibly for the first time, Ms. Martians shape shifting ability on a mission to disguise herself as the doctor. So while Wally and Me'gan are busy with the other League members, Artemis goes after Cheshire; which she fails at almost laughably so to Cheshire. Though before Cheshire knocks her out, one can notice she decides not to kill Artemis for unknown reasons where we see her willingly try to kill the other members such as Wally; so for some reason she lets her live for the moment.

Before long Cheshire just takes out Kaldur with what looks to be about a dozen toxin darts. With no one to stop her from killing Roquette she seems like she wanted to take her time with this death, unfortunately for her Robin and Superboy had destroyed the mechanisms Roquette designed. So because of this Cheshire let's her live because she says, "The Shadows may find another use for you".

With the mission seemingly over, Artemis catches Cheshire off guard knocking away her mask. The way Cheshire escapes is that she plays this whole scene with a definite calm about herself, making it clear that she knows that Artemis is new to the team and knows that by telling the team about her history would at best cause a major rift being caught in a lie at the very beginning of her time with the team, and at worst be forced to leave the team. At least this is what we gather that this is Artemis thought pattern while she holds the bow on Cheshire for a good twenty seconds before she drops the bow letting her leave. Another important piece is that Artemis recognizes Cheshire because she says "you" after her mask is removed. At this point we do not know how she knows her, maybe a friend or something else, we are thankfully left to our imagination what Cheshire could be.

As Artemis watches Cheshire leave, the other members of the group show up asking how she got away or if she at least saw her face. After making a conscious decision to lie, which will come back to bite her later, Kaldur reassures her that it is fine because the mission was ultimately successful. What, I believe, is really a turning moment for Artemis is when Me'gan and Kaldur officially welcome Artemis to the team while Wally welcomes her under duress. Although not before the night ends, she gets someone giving her more reason to feel like she will never be accepted into this team when Roy comes to see her in an alley stating that he knows she is not Green Arrow's niece, and makes a blatant threat that if she betrays the team he will come for her. Just for one last tease before the episode ends we get someone from the main villians of this series named 'The Light' which are kept on a non-descript silhouette on screens throughout most of the season, this person says that they have an inside agent.

That is all for this time guys. This part was the most difficult to write because there is so much in these last few scenes that it has taken me a while to get this post uploaded. Coming up I have not decided if I will tackle all of 'Denial' next post or split it up like I have for both the comics and 'Infiltrator' since the next episode is not particularly Artemis focused as these last few things have been. Either way, thank you all for reading these; love working on this passion project, hope everyone enjoys reading them.
