"Why Do They Not Let Him Speak? He's Talking of Peace."

Alright guys, I'm going off the schedule a little bit to bring this second half early as I had watched up to this point before I saw how long the blog was at the time I was only at the half-way point last time. While I can't promise this will be as defining as the last, but there are some essential pieces here on Diana's journey.

So once Diana and Steve get out of the street, we get the first appearance of Etta Candy; while not playing a large role here, is still a character of note. Clearly having a connection with Steve, Diana gets her first look at what roles women have in man's world when she hears that Etta is Steve's secretary. Upon hearing the job description, Diana is quick to point out that it sounds like slavery. Which is a fair point, most of the time if you are working for a company or another person, you are in slavery in a way you are just being paid for the work.

Aside from the fact that Diana was raised in a warrior culture, the Amazons are never concerned or even mention a form of currency. Because of this, even if some Amazons do take on a job similar to a secretary, they are never paid. However, that does seem unlikely as this concept of this job being the only thing Etta is doing seems foreign to Diana.

Diana goes onto to commenting on what women wear and automatically assume the first thing she sees is their version of armor. Again, bringing the warrior culture baggage.

Most of this scene is played for laughs, so there isn't as much meat hear; however, there is a comment made by Etta how women fight at this point in time is to use principles and by doing that hope to get the ability to vote. Which must be heartbreaking for Diana seeing this culture that not only forbids women to fight, but doesn't even allow them equal opinions of men.

Diana gets her comic book identity of Diana Prince(which isn't dwelled on long here, but it's a nice cameo) and departs with Steve; sword and shield in hand. Still seeing no reason to hide her true mission and purpose for being here. Though before she and Steve head out, he suggest she give the sword and shield to Etta for safe keeping and not drawing attention to herself, which she gives reluctantly.

They are barely back onto the street when some German spies recognize Steve and draw them both into an alley. They attempt to shoot him after he fights back, but the bullet is blocked by Diana's bracelets. The bullet drops into Steve's hand and he stares at it awhile at this point decides that Diana has the ability to take care of herself. Which is fair to assume that he hasn't seen her abilities in combat yet as she didn't participate that much on the beach battle.

The battle goes on as Diana makes quick work of the spies as she lasso's the last one dragging him to her. She still believes that this guy is only doing what he does because he is under control of Ares, so she does offer her help but is too late as he slipped a cyanide pill before she even pulled him to her.

They make it to the council meeting and Steve asks her to stay outside and wait for a minute but she is too curious on how a group of screaming men who do not look like warriors are going to help end the war.

It is at this point we meet Sir Patrick and the first thing he states is that Germany is too proud to surrender, and the only way to gain peace once more is to negotiate an armistice. Which sounds good at the moment and serves as an introduction that seems noble to define his character as one that holds the same mission as Diana; to attain peace. I will not go into spoilers here, but keep this scene in mind later in the film as there will be great discussion later on. At this point though all we get from Diana's perspective is the only reason that he stops and stares at her is because of the culture he is brought up in or just peer pressure as the rest of the men are telling her to leave immediately.

Even as she is being escorted out, the last words she hears from Sir Patrick is that. "Peace must be achieved at any cost.", finally seeming to find a kindred spirit. Wondering why they don't let him get a word in when all he seems to want is peace. This shows that all Diana focuses on are buzz words or just words in general, though of course she respects the actions to back up the words, she is easily swayed by words of like-minded people; as most people are willing to believe anything coming out of anyone's mouth whom they share the same opinion of a specific view).

After the meeting breaks for a moment, the colonel scolds Steve about bringing a women into the Council Chamber and Diana just gives him this death glare of how dare you. She is saved from doing anything brash as Patrick comes in to stop the colonel and allows Steve to speak of his intel also introducing himself to Diana.

That's it for this one guys. This still went on longer than I expected to, but who cares. Hope you guys enjoyed it and I will be back with these when I can.
