This comic takes place during another comic story where the team splits up; where Me'gan, Conner, and Kaldur return to Atlantis, while Artemis, Robin, and Wally join missions with their mentors. During Artemis and Green Arrow's mission they take on something that rarely occurs in the series, foiling a museum heist. While the fight doesn't last long, the thieves turn out to be members of the 'League of Shadows'. Most of them manage to escape with their relic, but not before Oliver shoots a tracker on the plane, which is immediately discovered, however, Artemis had made specialty arrows that have small trackers scattered into oil. This does raise the question of how much technology efficiency she has, either she learned how to do things like this from her dad or of her own accord are the only logical choices.
After tracking the League to the rendezvous point, Artemis and Oliver are joined by Berry, Wally, Bruce, and Dick; all of whose individual cases have led them to this place which turns out to be a sanctuary for Kobra followers. After their leader Jeff Burr who has tied his brother to a ceremonial stake so he can take a few drops of blood to help transform himself into a giant cobra. This can occur because of all the different artifacts the various groups have collected. Which is something that is always great about this show; no matter how sci-fi some of these explanations are, there is always some reason anything can happen in this series logic.
So while the mentors go to stop the bigger threat as Kobra sent several of his followers(turned into giant cobra's themselves) into the city, the younger members deal with the Burr. Wally discovers that the dagger taken from the museum can hurt him, so he grabs Artemis and tells her to shoot the dagger into Kobra. While this does turn Burr seemingly into a pile of ash, his brother asks where he is, Artemis tells him she thinks he escaped. Not sure whether this guy will come back for season 3, but Weisman is always a fan of leaving the door open for villians to return unless he has good reason to kill any character off for good.
Well, that's it for this one guys. The shortest post in a while. May not be as much meat on this one as much as most of the episodes coming up; at least for Artemis' character. But, just for those small bits such as the trackers in the oil, that make this well worth posting(at least for a complete history's sake). Next time I shall tackle one of the best episodes for Artemis' character this season, 'Homefront'. Thanks for reading guys.
