"It Sounded Fine Out Loud".

So before the mission really begins, Wally wants to make sure that Artemis is not going to lose focus because of his belittlement of her when they first started working together because he was still bitter about Roy refusing to join the team. This is the point where Wally truly starts to reciprocate the feelings that Artemis has had for him for a while now; I would say this is happening now because of 'Coldhearted', not just the simple fact that Me'gan is dating Conner, but also the fact that he has learned how far he needs to go to mature from the mission with Queen Perdita. To show that he has changed, he tells Artemis, "You have nothing to prove. Not to me". All you really need to get Artemis' weight lifted slightly is her facial expression; but to show that he has the same feelings for Wally, she tells him, "It sounded fine out loud".

All this is in complete contrast from Roy telling Artemis in the next scene to be extra cautious, he claims, because Sportsmaster is adept at spotting Martian camouflage; but with the scenes prior, it's clear that Roy doesn't trust the majority of this team. Artemis is just the only one Roy doesn't trust that is a part of this mission. Given Artemis' interest in this mission, regardless of what Wally just told her, she still disobey's orders and hits the ground following Roy. Important to note, Artemis does debate whether to stay and wait for Roy or one of the others to give her the green light or stay insecure and try to prevent the truth from coming out. Artemis' following of Roy doesn't last long, as Jade pops up in the only way a sister would; but seeing her insecurity, she pokes fun at Artemis for it.

Jade drops down and acts like this is just a standard fight with her sister; giving credence to the fact that she and Artemis were forced to fight each other from a very young age. Up until this point, Artemis just assumed Jade was working for 'The League of Shadows', as it's clear Roy would not tell Artemis about Jade teaming with Sportsmaster. Artemis is agitated at this until Jade says that this was not her choice. Possibly talking about the League or criminal life itself or just being tied to her father in this mission. Given what we will find out about Jade's character later, I think the first option could be more likely, though of course she still hates her father.

Before they fight, Roy ties up Jade with one of his specialty arrows. Given the chance to egg Artemis on, Jade brings up the fact that Roy seems to be attracted to her. Artemis is outraged and Roy doesn't know what to make of it; though the fact that he doesn't outright deny it from the start might show what becomes of this relationship later. Jade's words are also signaling to Crusher that at least Roy is there; important point later in the series. Once Jade is freed from the net, she immediately attacks Roy and takes off her mask to kiss him to a moment. Again this could be to throw Artemis off, given that glance Jade gives her during the kiss, but it's also too enjoyable for her to be completely faking it. Wally knocks her off and a brief brawl ensues with the group until Crusher leaves on a boat and Jade disappears after Artemis tries to defend Wally from her; this scene also shows that while Artemis is capable with a sword, she is clearly not proficient with it, yet.

As Crusher escapes, Roy tells Artemis to shoot a tracker on his boat. Not wanting to give, Roy especially, a chance to figure out the truth so she doesn't even try; but Roy still manages to shoot a tracker onto him. While Jade escapes, Artemis shoots a tracker on a train, giving the others a rabbit trail to follow. Artemis gives her tracking device to Roy playing along with his attitude towards her. Wally is frustrated with Roy at this point, and snatches the device from his hand trying to give it back to Artemis, but she is insistent that he keep it while she follows in the bioship.

That's it for part two guys. Be sure to stick around for the final part of this trilogy coming soon.
