Alright guys, today I guarantee I will finish rounding out this trilogy of 'Depths'. Like I said though. this is my favorite episode thus far, so I was not going to skimp on details on this episode for Artemis' character. I shall not take a long preamble this time, so let's get into this final dive into 'Depths.

After the scene of the majority of the team mourning for Artemis' death, we cut to Dick seeing the picture he took in 'Homefront' with the repetition of the line, "We'll laugh about this someday". Soon after we see Kaldur walk in, he and Dick exchange glances which is great as they still leave a little time to think whether Kaldur is there to fight him or help him. Once Wally walks in the question is already answered, but Wally doesn't stay on screen for more than a few seconds until Artemis is revealed to be alive.

Once Artemis takes her hood off we go into a flashback showing the various details of how it is possible she could be alive and convince everyone; including most of the audience. In this flashback, which one can't help but think back to the explanation given in 'Failsafe', it goes into the various means taken. The first step being how Kaldur seemingly uses his sorcery knowledge to phase through her body while showing the blade outside. The second step is that Artemis takes a pill or something of that sort to stop her heartbeat to simulate death. The final step is that while Artemis clutches the supposed wound until Dick covers it up until he can place a fake blood clot on the wound. All this information is given with dialogue in a few seconds.

The scene follows with Kaldur updating Dick on what's happening with Black Manta and the Light. In doing this Dick says how long Kaldur has been infiltrating the Light, without giving a specific amount of time. It does seem that Dick is using the same method Vandel used to spy on the League last season with Roy. In this way Dick seems to be getting to a place where he said he never wanted to be last season, with adopting more of Bruce's methods. It may be that as time has gone on, to lead a team Dick may believe the only effective way to win a war is to use dirty plays.

As Dick and Kaldur talk about the next phase of the plan, Dick gives Artemis a magical amulet. Wally questions why he's giving her this, Dick response is that the amulet will help disguise Artemis' voice and appearance; only allowing the four of them that could recognize her. Dick also mentions that he got this from Zatanna as a favor I guess, though he does mention their former relationship so one could imagine how that was used in that relationship and he just kept it for some reason.

Before Artemis and Kaldur leave, she hugs Wally and repeats his line, "What could go wrong"? It may be that he point in doing that is to reassure Wally that this next part of the plan will work out as this part did. Wally humors her while she's there, but Wally waits until she leaves to show his true emotions about the situation. Wally shows this after Dick sees Artemis and Wally going into the submarine and says that the hard part is over; Wally response is that, "It only gets harder from here".

That's it guys, take a breath. For all who are reading these long after they have been uploaded and read this trilogy in one sitting, thank you. To those that are reading these in real time, thanks for your patience and we'll be blowing through the rest of the episodes fairly quick as Artemis does not have a big part in several episodes in a row until 'The Fix'. So these will likely be a single blog post an episode until that episode, at least the ones she appears in. Next time we will be discussing 'Darkest'. So for those of you following along, that's your homework for this week. See you guys then.
